The Journey of Self-Discovery In Business
Have you ever had your heart ripped out? Of course you haven’t. I mean…you’re reading this so your ticker must be in reasonably good shape.
I mean the ‘heart’ of your mind; that ethereal component of our identity that holds our ambitions and dreams. When that gets ripped out, it can set you back.
Why and I talking about the ripping out of hearts? Perhaps because at times over the past twelve months, it’s felt like my heart was being ripped in two.
Over the last year I’ve been on a business journey; one that’s been a thrill ride to be sure, but also one that forced me to look deep inside and uncover buried ambitions and dreams. In the process, I made some decisions that may have been hasty -the jury is out on that at the moment- but necessary to allow the future to come into sharper focus.
Over the past year, I’ve..
- Written and published a book, Becoming Irresistible
- Spun off ProCaseStudies into its own business unit
- Trained under Sean D’Souza for a very intense year
It’s been a busy year; one full of fast paced information. Now comes the year of implementation. Part of that implementation is guiding the new BecomingIrresistible.com website into existence. It’s not yet built, but will be in the coming few months.
I have some fuzzy-vision (a D’Souza-ism) around BI.com but what I do know is that it will incorporate all I’ve learned this year and the result will be positive.
It feels like I’ve come full circle…
- BarryMorris.com faded away
- ProCaseStudies.com was born
- BecomingIrresistible.com is on her way
The journey ahead is exciting even though it remains unknown in terms of accomplishment. It’s a journey I’m looking forward to.
So, back to the cardiac ripping. OK, maybe ripping is too violent an idea; let’s call it remodeling. The past year was about remodeling my old thinking about business and improving it with thinking based on sound structure, purpose, and community. I’m a better person for having experienced it and I know, when the time comes, you’ll see the difference. ![]()
